All proceeds from this race will benefit the Gibson Island Country School and will go towards paying for damages the school incurred because of Hurricane Isabel. Also towards enrichment programs.

The Nordstrom Beat the Bridge Event consists of an 8k Run, 4-mile Family Walk, One-mile Fun Run, a Diaper Derby for toddlers (under 3). The competitive 8k Run has two challenges: to beat the University Bridge before it is raised, and to cross the finish line in Husky Stadium. The bridge is at the 2.0-mile mark of the race.

Race day registration and packet pickup will start at 7:30 a.m. at Boom Island Park (700 Sibley St NE). The race will start and end at Boom Island Park, by the walking bridge going towards De LaSalle High School. The route will continue under the Henneppin Avenue Bridge and along Main St until the Stone Arch Bridge. After crossing the Stone Arch Bridge, the route will follow the park trails along West River Parkway, and then return to the starting point via the 8th Ave Bridge.

This is a 5k run or 1.5 mile walk beginning at 9:00 a.m. The race and walk are held entirely on Goucher's campus. The course is a road race on rolling hills and ends on the stadium track. Ideal for all types of race participants: casual, first time or serious runners.

Historic Northeast 5K will take you through historic northeast, along the Mississippi River and over the Stone Arch Bridge. In addition, bring the whole family for the Free Children's Fun Run around Boom Island with free activites. This event will raise money for the B.F. Nelson Park project, the Pierre Bottineau Legacy Fountain and Gardens and the neighborhood general fund. In the evening there will be a social event that includes hors d'oeuvres, wine tasting, silent auction and live music. Tickets for the evening event will be $15.
